TAMRILLO : CONCEPT / PRIMARY RESEARCH

Spirograph -

After talking with Greta about possible concept we decided the best concept to take forward was the spirograph. It represents the band and their musical direction, and is visually very captivating which will work well for drawing in peoples attention to the band. There is a lot of room to play with this concept, such as making DIY Tamarillo spirograph, specific to the band...

Below is our first attempt at playing with a spirograph set that Greta purchased. It was interesting to experiment with the different patterns and definitely worth while having a play as it gave us a better understanding of the spirograph process and how it is not always as easy as it looks, we also discovered that you can make spirograph  out of any shape it does not have to be a perfect circle, at one point we used masking tape. We filmed the process as a way of documenting it, as we are developing the bands identity as they develop their music we want to keep up with documenting our process as something we can give to the band at the end to represent the amount of work that has gone in to creating Tamarillo from their part, and ours.

Plan :

The plan me and Greta have set ourselves to do before the next meet up is as follows -

1. Research spirographs
-history
-anatomy
-structure
-home made spirographs
-techniques of different spirographs
-where have they been use in (art, graphic design, project wise)

2. Research innovative ways of branding/creating identity for musicians/bands or music related firms/companies
