TAMARILLO : Concept Research

Research into Spirograph :

To start of my research into spirographs I am going to look into DIY ways of creating spirographs. This will be a way of discovering innovative ways of creating spirographs, that will represent the band and their uniqueness. The research is as follows.

#1 Laser cut

People have created their own spirograph sets through laser cut. This would be a way for us to generate our own branded, unique Tamarillo spirograph set. It would be an interesting way to interact with their audience and as it would involve engagement it would therefore mean that it would gain peoples attention.

#2 CD spirograph

Another option from laser cut is making a spirograph set from cd's. This would be a way of involving a musical theme in the spirograph set, and would be a nice concept to play with, although I don't think the aesthetics of using a cd would be a successful as the material cd's are made from is not the most tactile and pleasant.

#3 K'nex harmonograph

This is a very clever and innovative way of creating a  harmonograph. The machine is capable of being set at different settings to create different harmonograph patterns.

#4 Laser spirograph

The laser spirograph could be something that we could explore in terms of visuals for music videos or as a backing for a gig.

#7 Pendulum painting

This pendulum effect spirograph is something that we both found very interesting visually and also the visuals it made. We are going to use this somewhere where it is relevant.

#8 Record Spirograph

This is a really clever way of producing a harmonograph it is done using two record players which would be a way of making a harmonograph that is relevant to music. The effects from this devise is very beautiful
