Briefs:
Tamarillo -
Tamarillo is a collaborative project that I will undertake with Greta. I have chosen to collaborate with Greta as we share an interest in engaging in creative and innovative design. We have done a project together before and the process of collaboration came very naturally, the way we generate ideas together is very fluid and works well. Greta is also very good at acting on ideas as she is very proactive and organised. This will be a brief that is undertaken over time, as the band are in the developing stage, so as they develop their music we will develop their identity or promotion as they need it, we will be working in synthesis with the band.
Adopt A band -
This is another brief which I am undertaking with Greta, again with a music theme. This brief will be more of an exploration and documentation of ways in which designers can out reach to musicians to work with them in creating their design work. We will aim to find bands who want work doing through an adoption style process. With the Tamarillo project we have creative control in creating their whole identity and promotion as they are start up, but with this project we do not know what bands will approach us, they could already have an identity and just want gig posters doing, so this will be an interesting way of working. We will document the whole process from start to finish in adopting a band and dealing with all their design woes.
(insert adopt a band issuu)
Sunday Best -
This brief will be a live brief working with Sunday Best and creating their creative direction and identity along with promotional material. They are a start up company so I will be building their identity as they grow. This will be a brief that develops in time as the company develops, working in stages, first resolving the branding and identity and then creating promotional material when they are ready for it etc. developing their brand.
Looking for trouble -
This brief will be undertaken as a short duration brief. I am going to approach this as a two week project. I think two weeks is the correct amount of time as it will able me to develop the brief to a high standard, and have enough time to develop sufficient research. I think it is important within briefs to have time to reflect and change things, not just design and leave it as that so two weeks will be plenty of time to do this.
Celebrity Worship -
This brief will be one that I develop over time as I want it to be at high level of execution, there is also a lot involved in this project like developing the identity and all the promotional goods. I want to treat this brief as if it was a live brief and the exhibiting is going a head, os there will be a lot of research to be done into the context of the exhibition etc. Treating this brief as if it is live will able me to experience what it is like and what is involved in curating an exhibition.
